Rav Baruch Shalom HaLevi Ashlag (“Rabash”) changed the course of studying Kabbalah by integrating the concept of unity in our world to reach spiritual attainment. Rabash’s father and teacher was the great Kabbalist, Rav Yehuda Leib HaLevi Ashlag, (known as Baal HaSulam) who wrote commentary on The Book of Zohar. While Baal HaSulam gave us insight on the spiritual worlds, it was Rabash who articulated the human essence of Kabbalah for our generation. Rabash gave us the practical advice on how to realize spirituality by simply forming study groups and using unity and love as our tools for attaining spirituality in our time.

The writings in this book aren’t just for reading; the reader can utilize the book as a guide in his everyday life and within his study group. By following the advice Rabash gives us in the book, the student will discover new insights in his studies. Rabash shows how to utilize the wisdom of Kabbalah to find true spirituality in our life.

5 of 5 Nuts and bolts August 15, 2011
Reviewer: Jim McClaren from St. Louis, MO United States
Since the time of Abraham kabbalists have studied in groups. But Baruch Ashlag, The Rabash,  is the teacher who, in our day, has written about how this is actually done. In this book, ”Rabash: The Social Writings”, we get the real ‘nuts and bolts’ of group work in the study of kabbalah. And it is in a translation that is friendly to English speaking readers. For the student of kabbalah each article in this book is a revelation.

5 of 5 Essays to be savored April 20, 2011
Reviewer: sally stroud from klamath falls, OR United States
The Social Writings is a collection of the important essays of Rav Baruch Shalom HaLevi Ashlag. The Social Writings reveal intimate steps that must be taken within each of us in order to transcend our nature and move to higher states of spirituality.
The Social Writings present a method of attainment on the most personal level for anyone studying Kabalah with emphasis on internal work and work within the group.
The essays are wisdom presented as a guide that delivers the method of understanding ourselves and insights into the path of spirituality that begins deep in our hearts and moves on to the love of others.
The kindness and love of the Rabash is apparent in rich emotions and the loving fashion in which the essays are written making them a warm experience for any reader.
I believe The Social Writings essays are intended to be savored, internalized and used in everyday interactions and to become a standard for a way of life.
